My calves are killing me. They’re on fire. I walked way too much this weekend. Why you ask? Well, my friends and I were in Chicago for Anime Central! We stayed at one of our friend’s house on Wednesday night then drove to Chicago and walked around downtown all afternoon. Then our hotel was a mile from the convention center so we walked to and from each day, sometimes more than once. And of course, what do you do at a convention but walk?? So much walking. It was so fun, though! And so great to get out of Ohio for a convention. The staff at ACEN was so surprisingly kind, they thanked you when you held your badge up for them while the staff at all the Ohio cons yell at you if you don’t and barely acknowledge you when you do. The Exhibit Hall was amazing. It was great to be at a con with actual industry booths. And the FREE STUFF. Actual free bags and such. Manga samplers, posters, etc.
The gaming rooms were huge and plenty! Although whoever provided the consoles suck at updating their systems. 99+ hour update for Overwatch? Has it not been updated since release? Geez. There was a huge board game room as well as multiple rooms with game testing/etc. as well. Tons of panel rooms, too. The Artist Alley was great and I was excited to see some familiar artists that I watch here on dA! Bookmarks from sugarmints
are the best artist alley purchases
The six of us finally got a photo together as well! Helloooooo facebook cover photo ;] Cannot wait until we all go to Colossalcon East! Bigger Waterpark than the original Colossalcon~ (which I will miss going to this year, first time not going since 2010) and we've got a room at the resort!
Also - I was super excited on Sunday when I spotted Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (never to be released in NA ,__, ) at a booth and it was IN ENGLISH (aside from the voices). My final purchase of the weekend, there. Hooray for region free PS4 games.
